Childs Engineering Corporation has performed numerous hydrographic surveys for Distrigas at their Everett, Massachusetts facility.

Distrigas runs the only LNG tanker terminal in Boston and needs to regularly certify the berths depths for U.S. Coast Guard clearance to berth LNG tankers at their berth on the Mystic River inside of Boston Harbor.  Childs Engineering has performed these surveys in accordance with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers regulations and has had consistent depth verification between surveys within the berth area.

Childs has been called to site to perform surveys on short notice after incidents where scrap metal ships from the neighboring facility have indicated there may be an obstruction within the area.  Childs has successfully located these obstructions within the berth and marked them for removal.
