Childs Engineering performed topside and underwater inspections of the Newell and Weld Boathouse dock structures, located on opposite banks of the Charles River for Harvard University. A team of engineer divers assessed the overall condition of the fixed and floating pier components to identify deterioration and recommend necessary repairs.

Following the inspection, Childs Engineering provided services for dock replacement at both Newell and Weld Boathouses. This included a design-level inspection, development of design drawings and specifications, coordination and acquisition of required permits, preparation of construction documents, and support during the bidding process. Childs also provided construction administration services, including RFI responses, submittal reviews, and periodic site visits to ensure the work was performed in accordance with the plans and specifications.
