Childs Engineering provided full-service engineering support for the inspection, structural analysis, and reporting of waterfront facilities at multiple U.S. Navy Facilities along the East Coast and inland. Work included topside and underwater inspections performed by in-house engineer dive teams in compliance with EM 385-1-1. Inspections covered a variety of waterfront structures including piers, wharves, bulkheads, seawalls, fender systems, mooring hardware, marinas, floating piers, boat ramps, and related structures.

Following inspection and assessment, Childs provided repair recommendations, cost estimates, and full design packages for both facility rehabilitation and new construction. Additional services included geotechnical investigations, hazardous material surveys, and topographic and hydrographic surveys. Locations served included major bases such as SUBASE New London (CT), NAS Jacksonville (FL), NAVSTA Newport (RI), and the USS Constitution in Boston, MA, among many others.
